Aligns with CO-4 (Microsoft Word Documents)
Find a real healthcare document—this could be a patient intake form, a discharge summary, an office memo, a clinic brochure, an insurance explanation of benefits, or any professional document you encounter in a healthcare setting (or online example).
Once you have your document, address all four of the following:
- Describe it — What is the document, and what is its purpose?
- Identify 3+ Word formatting features — What Microsoft Word features were used (or should have been used) to create this document?
- Evaluate its effectiveness — How well does the document communicate its message? Is it clear, professional, and easy to read?
- Propose 3 improvements — Using specific Microsoft Word tools, how would you improve this document?
When discussing formatting features and improvements, consider these Microsoft Word tools:
- Styles & Headings
- Tables
- Headers / Footers
- Page Borders
- Bullet & Numbered Lists
- Columns
- Graphics / Images
- Font Formatting (bold, italic, size, color)
- Paragraph Spacing
- Page Breaks
